Site selection begins with  Market Analysis and determining if the site is suitable for your planned development. Site evaluation begins with establishing the highest and best use of the land. Each involve assessing a potential site for development through understanding Demand and Demographics and gaining information about slope, soils, hydrology, vegetation, parcel ownership, orientation etc.

Through collaboration of strategic partners, the site planning process involves the study of organizational land use zoning, access, circulation, privacy, security, shelter, land drainage, and other factors. This is done by arranging the compositional elements of landform, planting, water, and buildings in site plans.
